The Portland Press Herald interviewed Jonathan Rubin, Director of the MCSPC and professor of resources economics and policy at the University of Maine, on how to assess the economic impact of mild winters in Maine and their cultural importance to the state.
“I’m not a cultural anthropologist, but I do think the cultural losses are potentially important, if harder to quantify,” Rubin said. “A sense of place is an important aspect of who we are.”
