Celebrating International Podcast Day
For International Podcast Day, we’re celebrating two years and six seasons of Maine Policy Matters, the official podcast of the Margaret Chase Smith Policy Center. Our title reinforces the mission, vision, and values of the Margaret Chase Smith Policy Center to inform public policy processes and promote civil discourse to solve the critical issues facing Maine and the nation. Maine Policy Matters brings discussions straight to our listeners with panels of experts talking about the most current issues in Maine, from tourism sectors to climate change resilience and student activism, to organizations uplifting new immigrants from around the globe, and so much more. The podcast has been a popular way to spark new discussions and inspire impactful dialogue, making current developments in policy more accessible and exciting for everyone. Our sixth season is running throughout this Fall, featuring interviews with Secretary of State Shenna Bellows, Judy East as the director of the Maine Bureau of Resource Information and Land Use Planning, and Jessica Perez as the Digital Equity Manager at Maine Connectivity Authority. We invite diverse voices from all across the state to bring to the forefront conversations on the strength of communities to tackle complex problems and the impressive work of civil servants, community leaders and representatives, scholars, business leaders and local workers. Maine Policy Matters is available on all major streaming platforms, and you can give our team your topic suggestions by filling out the form at the bottom of our web page.
