New Report on Economic and Community Impacts of UMaine Alumni
The Margaret Chase Smith Policy Center has published a new report by Philip Trostel, Megan Bailey, Catherine deLutio, and Mariya Pominova on the economic and societal impacts of UMaine alumni in Maine. This study was based on detailed responses from 5,288 Black Bear alumni from across the U.S., which the authors then scaled to produce a reliable representation of the 100,000-plus Black Bear alumni base. More than half of those alumni live in Maine.
The authors found that the benefits of the learning and experiences that take place in Orono ripple across the state, reaching nearly every community, persisting for decades. This report presents the expansive economic and societal impacts of UMaine alumni in Maine.
