Taylor Lange

Taylor joined the Margaret Chase Smith Policy Center in 2024. Taylor received his PhD in Ecology & Environmental Science in 2022 along with a Masters in Resource Economics and Policy in 2020 from the University of Maine. Prior to joining the center, he served as an Oak Ridge Institute of Science and Education Fellow in the EPA’s Office of Land and Emergency Management, working on evidence gathering and program evaluation. Taylor’s research expertise includes the economics of common pool resources and socio-ecological systems, with a focus on climate change adaptation in agriculture and contaminated land clean up. His current projects include an analysis of policies to mitigate residential displacement around revitalized contaminated land, and he works with the University’s Economic Development Administration Center to estimate the economic impact of Maine’s various industries.
