Kathryn Swacha
Katie Swacha is an Assistant Professor of Professional and Technical Writing. She received her BA in English and German from Bowdoin College in 2008, her MA in English from Georgetown University in 2012, and her PhD in Rhetoric and Composition from Purdue University in 2017. Dr. Swacha’s research interests include community-engaged research, social justice and technical communication, racial equity in internships, and the rhetoric of health and medicine. She directs the English Career Internship Program at UMaine’s English Department and is on the Maine Policy Matters podcast team at the Policy Center.
