Aaron Weiskittel

Aaron Weiskittel is currently an Associate Professor of Forest Biometrics and Modeling as well as the Irving Chair of Forest Ecosystem Management in the School of Forest Resources. Dr. Weiskittel joined the University of Maine faculty in 2008 after a brief stint as a researcher in the private forest products industry. Aaron’s primary research focuses on projecting future changes in forest composition and structure under different management strategies. The tools developed from Aaron’s research are used by various stakeholders in Maine including the private forest products industry, public agencies, and researchers throughout the Northeastern region. habitat, and other important forest uses under different alternative futures. Professor Weiskittel is a Margaret Chase Smith Policy Center Faculty Fellow for 2016-17.
