Fall 2018 issue of Maine Policy Review now available

The fall 2018 issue of Maine Policy Review presents articles on a range of issues affecting Maine. In the issue’s Margaret Chase Smith Essay, Vice Admiral Nora Tyson (ret.) examines the concept of leadership as it relates to her 38-year career in the US Navy and the debt she owes Margaret Chase Smith. The issue also includes the first-place essay from the Margaret Chase Smith Library’s essay contest for high school seniors, reflecting on the importance of a free press.

Other pieces include

  • a commentary on universal basic income
  • an interview with MPR cover artist Rob Shetterly
  • the refections of Executive Editor Linda Silka
  • and articles on Maine’s public estate and conservation lands, comparing well-being across Maine counties, cafeteria waste-reduction programs, and population health assessments.
