Faculty and staff at the Margaret Chase Smith Policy Center conducts nationally recognized economic policy-focused research. Research interests include the role of social capital in economic development and decision-making in rural areas; local food systems; participatory approaches to science and management; social-ecological systems research; human capital and savings; public economics; and labor economics.
