EMS Retention/Recruitment
Greetings,
My name is Dr. Marcella Sorg and I am a researcher at the University of Maine Orono. I am working collaboratively with the Maine Bureau of Emergency Medical Services to better understand issues relating to recruitment and retention of the EMS workforce.
As a result, my research team is seeking individuals who are interested in participating in our research study. We would like to speak to students pursuing training as an emergency medical technician (EMT), to better understand the factors that may have impacted your decision to pursue this field. The research is being conducted by myself and my team. We aim to identify the issues affecting recruitment and retention of the EMS workforce in Maine, by gathering and synthesizing relevant data through structured engagement of stakeholders, like yourself. You must be 18 years or older to participate. If you decide to participate you will be asked to complete a ten-minute pre-screening questionnaire and may be asked to participate in a two-hour focus group. Focus groups will consist of six to eight participants with a moderator and a notetaker. The interviews in the focus group will occur over Zoom and will require both audio and video participation. The focus group sessions will be recorded.
If you agree and fully understand the below consent form, please proceed to the pre-screening questionnaire.
