Faculty Fellows Program trains UMS faculty leaders
The Faculty Fellows Program has kicked off its fifth year of training, welcoming select faculty from UMS campuses who wish to develop their leadership and communication skills. Twenty six faculty members representing all seven campuses recently gathered at UMaine for leadership training and team building. Subsequent meetings will focus on helping faculty better communicate their research to lay audiences including community organizations and elected officials.
Each year the program creates a network of trained faculty leaders who can communicate the importance of the University of Maine System and its research and education. These fellows serve as ambassadors to the legislature, business, and wider community. Faculty members are selected from all UMS campuses and are trained in core leadership and communication skills.
The list of participating faculty for 2018-19 illustrates a broad array of interests and disciplines in this year’s group. The program continues throughout the 2018-19 academic year.
