Susan Corbett is Distinguished Maine Policy Fellow, Dec. 5th

Susan Corbett, Founder and Director of the National Digital Equity Center, will visit UMaine as a Distinguished Maine Policy Fellow on Wednesday, Dec. 5th. Ms. Corbett is a preeminent authority on rural broadband deployment and works closely with economic development and rural organizations to advance internet and wireless technologies and their adoption.

In the fall of 2017, Ms. Corbett launched the National Digital Equity Center, a program of the Axiom Education & Training Center, collaborating with local and global change makers,  relentlessly driving disruptive strategies to close the digital divide in Maine and across the United States. Ms. Corbett is currently the Director of the National Digital Equity Center. She is also a public speaker, educator, and advocate who is dedicated to providing broadband access and digital literacy to rural communities everywhere.

Distinguished Maine Policy Fellows are prominent Maine individuals with past or current careers as policy makers in the state. The Policy Center brings these individuals to campus for a day to teach an undergraduate class, engage faculty about research and public policy, and meet with UMaine administration and graduate students. Susan Corbett’s visit is sponsored by the Policy Center and the Office of Innovation and Economic Development.
