Sorg’s Research on Heroin in Maine in the News
Professor Marcella Sorg’s research on drug overdose deaths in Maine has been in the press recently. Her work has been cited in the Washington Post, Portland Press Herald and Maine Sun Journal.
Sorg has been reviewing overdose data provided by the state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner since 1997. A broad picture shows the increase in drug overdose deaths, with higher numbers in more highly populated parts of the state.
