Elect Her this weekend
Mary Cathcart of the MCSPC will be attending the Elect Her program at UMaine this weekend. Elect Her – Campus Women Win is the only program in the country that encourages and trains college women to run for student government and future political office.
This year, Elect Her will be offered at 50 campuses around the U.S., and the University of Maine is the only site that will hold this training session in Maine. Cathcart, who is the Director of the Maine NEW Leadership program, has encouraged NEW Leadership alums to participate, including those from other campuses and that are College/University partners in AAUW. Fifty students are expected at Wells Conference Center this Saturday.
The workshop agenda features UMaine presenters Jennifer O’Leary and Brianne Suldovsky, and State Senator Emily Cain, with welcoming remarks by President Susan Hunter. The facilitator, Jessica Kelly,is the program manager in AAUW’s Campus Leadership Programs Department.
