Sen. Collins commemorates anniversary of Sen. Smith’s campaign
U.S. Senator Susan Collins commemorated the 50th anniversary of Margaret Chase Smith’s presidential campaign. Sen. Margaret Chase Smith made history on Jan. 27, 1964, when she announced her candidacy for president. Sen. Collins, who currently holds the same Senate seat, gave remarks Monday on the floor of the Senate, paying tribute to Senator Smith and her many contributions.
