Margaret Chase Smith Library to host Leeke-Shaw Lecture on International Affairs

The Margaret Chase Smith Library, operated and maintained by the University of Maine, will host the Leeke-Shaw Lecture on International Affairs.  On Friday, Oct. 18. Retired Ambassador Laurence Pope will give the lecture, “Demilitarizing American Diplomacy” on the topic of the importance of diplomacy as the third leg of American policy, complementing military power and intelligence, at the Margaret Chase Smith Library in Skowhegan from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The event will begin with lunch, followed by the lecture at noon.
