Rebekah Smith chosen for Maine Human Rights Commission mediation panel

Rebekah Smith, a research associate at the Margaret Chase Smith Policy Center who is a co-director of Maine New Leadership, has been chosen as one of five mediators for the newly-created Third-Party Neutral Mediation Program.  As noted in the Kennebec Journal article, the program “will allow the commission to resolve cases at an early stage in the commission’s investigation process, and help the parties resolve their disputes with a feeling that they have been heard, without investing substantial time and money in litigation.”  Smith will assist in drafting rules and procedures for the mediation process.
