Internship Dates
The 2010 Maine State Government Summer Internship Program will run Monday, May 24 through Friday, August 20 for a total of 13 weeks.  In previous years, the Program was a 12-week program which included two unpaid holidays (agencies were encouraged to allow Interns to “make up” the missed hours during the other four days of those weeks).  This year, we are extending the program to 13 weeks; the additional week (5 work days) is added to cover for the two unpaid holidays as well as three State Government closure days (also unpaid).  Agencies will be instructed not to allow Interns to “make up” the time lost during weeks with a holiday and/or closure-day.  The maximum number of hours to be worked by each Intern during the 13-week Program is 480.

The 2010 Maine State Government Internship Program will begin with an orientation on Monday, May 24 in Augusta. The program also includes an educational component, which requires that interns attend a seminar in Augusta.  The Program will conclude with a reception at the Blaine House on the last day of the Internship, at which interns will be awarded a Certificate of Completion by the Governor or his designee.

The Maine State Government Summer Internship Program encourages applications from women and individuals
of diverse racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds.
